Situational Graphics

This page contains graphics that depict Southern Miss's uniform history in certain situations over the past 17 seasons (2003 was picked as a cut-off point because that is when Southern Miss switched back to a more "yellow" athletic gold color.)

Gold Jerseys:
Since 2008, Southern Miss has had five different gold jersey designs. With the exception of the digital camo accented design in 2013 and 2014, all of the gold jerseys have mimicked the designs of the standard black and white jerseys of that time.

The Golden Eagles have worn gold jerseys in 10 games over the past 11 seasons, with a 5-5 record in those games. Always worn with black helmets, the gold jerseys have been paired with every pants color imaginable:

Gold/Gold: 4 games, 3-1 Record
Gold/Black: 3 games, 1-2 Record
Gold/[black front, gold back]: 2 games, 0-2 Record
Gold/White: 1 game, 1-0 Record

Bowl Games:
From 2003 to 2019, Southern Miss appeared in a bowl game in 13 out of 16 seasons, winning six of them for a 6-7 record. The Golden Eagles have worn a variety of uniform combinations in recent bowl games:

White Jerseys: 8 Bowls, 3-5 Record
Black Jerseys: 3 Bowls, 2-1 Record
Gold Jerseys: 2 Bowls, 1-1 Record

White/Gold: 3 Bowls, 2-1 Record
White/Black: 3 Bowls, 1-2 Record
Black/Black: 2 Bowls, 1-1 Record
Black/Gold: 1 Bowl, 1-0 Record
Gold/Gold: 1 Bowl, 1-0 Record
Gold/Black: 1 Bowl, 0-1 Record
White/White: 1 Bowl, 0-1 Record

SEC Opponents:
Southern Miss has averaged around one SEC team per year since 2003. They did not play one in 2009, 2011, or 2012, and played two in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019. The Golden Eagles' recent history against SEC teams include two home games (Mississippi State in 2015 and Kentucky in 2017) and one win (at Kentucky in 2016). Southern Miss wore white jerseys and black pants in the win over Kentucky in 2016; they wore all-black in the 2015 home game against Mississippi State and all-gold with the Eagle logo on the helmets in the 2017 home game against Kentucky.
